Fine Artist Louise Mellon Has a Different Approach to Commissions

February 11, 2014 By: janwest Category: What's Happenin'

Wellington, FL – February 5, 2014 – Louise Mellon is well known for her brightly-colored, impressionist, whimsical and sometimes downright funny art. Mellon’s recognizable work is often seen on the covers and pages of equestrian publications. Hiring Mellon for a commission is a departure from the norm.

“Most artists ask for half up front,” Mellon said. “I don’t ask for a deposit. The client has the choice of seeing the work in progress or, if they prefer, to have the work unveiled as a surprise when it is complete. If they love the piece and are completely satisfied, they pay the fee in its entirety at pick up. Their satisfaction is the most important element of the process.”

With a Louise Mellon commission, if for some reason the client doesn’t completely love their painting, they have the option to pass on the purchase. The only stipulation is that they agree that Mellon may sell it to another collector if they opt not to buy.

“My style and technique are different than the typical equestrian artist,” said Mellon. “My commission policy allows me the freedom to create really unique, collectable work.”
