asides-gator-huntKris Kampsen and Ali Solomine enjoyed another great Alligator
hunt with Kris’ father Ed on Lake Okeechobee. This year they
harvested six gators. That’s a lot of shoes for Ali!

Cybele Jordan says she’s just launched a new website; www.Ranchoremuda.com, after spending a month in Santa Barbara... “I stayed in my tent at Camp David and had a most excellent time watching the Luchesse Cup and the Pacific Coast Open. I brought horses to sell, came close but no cigar. David Lominska did some wonderful photo sessions of everyone riding (and swimming) their horses at Loon Point in Summerland. The Open was awesome with 8 competitive 20 goal teams and a staggering amount of quality horse flesh.”

We hear that Chris Maloney of San Diego bought Sean Keys out of the La Quinta Polo Club. Graham Bray is still the manager

A month or so ago, Alex Gooding wrecked his bike outside of Aspen and ended up face-down in a ditch, according to deputies at the Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office. Fortunately for Alex, an Aspen High School junior named Miles Phillips and his friends stopped when they saw the accident, and managed to take care of Alex until the ambulance arrived. Alex suffered a head injury and road rash (wear leathers when you ride the roads, guys!)

Change of pace? Put down the mallets and head to Camden for the Marion duPont Scott Colonial Cup on Saturday, November 21.

We spotted David Lominska heading into the New Moon CafE9 in Aiken the other day. We haven’t seen David in a while, but it says something (not sure what) that we recognized the Corgis first! One of the nice things about the New Moon is the dog-friendly tables outside. You and your best friends can enjoy the nice weather over a cup of coffee85 but bring your own dog biscuits.

EquineVIP.com traveled to Texas to film Kristy Waters Outhier. Continuing its tradition of “If It’s About Horses, We Cover It” EquineVIP asks Kristy to share her winning secrets about what it takes to be a female polo professional and why her horses set a standard of excellence.

The Aiken Ladies tournament has been a big success, as has the 302 Polo Club’s contributions in supporting mammograms for women with no health insurance. Over the last 18 months, over 1,200 mammograms have been funded by this event at University Hospital’s breast health center. Additionally, 40 women have received further diagnostics and 6 are currently in treatment for breast cancer. Please help continue to fund this wonderful program by either attending the event or making a donation. It’s a great day of fun and family entertainment to support a worthwhile cause. Please see the 302 Polo website: www.302polo.com for further information.

Passing: It is with regret that we inform you of the passing of John Barker Hickox who died Monday, September 7th. Barker was a longstanding member of the USPA and devoted volunteer for the PTF, where he served as a Board member almost since its inception. Our thoughts go out to his family and friends.
