Dog of the Day – Fred

May 15, 2013 By: janwest Category: General

Fred is a real love bug and just happy being loyal to his master. He’s a big Lab mix, and would best be suited in a home where he can interact and play with his human companions. Fred is an older gentleman who is easygoing and chilled out – no puppy problems with him!  He is so ready for his new adoptive family – maybe yours?

Billie is a happy, fun-loving little guy who really wants a family of his own to love and play with. He’s not too big and not too small – just the perfect size. He loves toys, giving kisses, and flopping into laps – he’s waiting for you! I am looking for that special someone to adopt me and give me a forever home. If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out the adoption form online or contact Big Dog Ranch Rescue (561) 309-3311 or email: adoptions@bdrr.org.

Mutt of the Month – Peeta

March 15, 2013 By: janwest Category: General

Meet Peeta! His brother, Gale has already been adopted. Unfortunately Peeta does not make a great first impression. He’s tired of seeing people walking past his kennel and wants to get out and play. Once he’s out, he walks beautifully on a leash and is a perfect companion. Give this handsome boy a chance. Adoption fee is $75 including neuter, microchip, UTD vaccinations, and appropriate testing. Find out more at LetLoveLive.org.

SAVE ME AND NAME ME!

unnamed
I was rescued today by Big Dog Ranch Rescue, also known as Weimaraner Rescue Florida. I am just a 9 week old little girl. The people who bought me to be their cute puppy accidentally ran over me with a golf cart. My hip was broken in two places and so was my leg. My doggie parents did not think I was worth the $3,500 it was going to cost for the orthopedic doctor to fix what they did to me. So they said to put me to sleep!!!!

Lucky for me, Big Dog Ranch Rescue stepped in and drove 9 hours to save me. But they need their friends to help them raise the money to save my leg. Please help me. I have a lot of life ahead of me and I need all four of my legs. I also need a name, so whoever donates the most gets to name me!

Thanks, I will forever grateful…

OK Dogsters…let’s get this money raised in the next 48 hours!

Rescue of the Week

Barney

This is “Barney”. I’m SURE he’s fetching flip flops, not chewing them! He is a lab mix with a surprisingly low indoor energy level, but would make an excellent running partner. He loves to swim! He is a student in our Phideaux University program and knows sit, down, and is working on wait and leash walking. He is approximately 9 months old, and weighs about 48 pounds. Neutered, UTD on shots, microchipped. $75 adoption fee.

VALENTINE

Oh what a love this guy is – he could not be more appropriately named.  He is a beautiful boy who gets along great with other dogs and all people.  He has an intense fascination with cats so we would recommend a home without cats.  Why hasn’t he been adopted?  My guess would be is that people look at him and think there is nothing special about him looks-wise.  But this boy is a total sweetie.  He does need work on leash walking…he is very strong and he pulls but his foster mom is working with him on his leash manners.  He is a one and a half year old Lab mix.

If you are interested in adopting Valentine, complete an adoption application at www.asecondchancerescue.org.  The adoption fee is $150 which includes spayed/neutered, up to date vaccinations (Rabies and Distemper/Parvo), micro chipped, and housetrained as well as a complementary wellness vet visit with our veterinarian to all adopters. We do allow out of state adoptions, but we do not ship our animals cargo.  We can arrange ground transportation or in cabin air travel, at adopter’s expense.

Adoption events are held from 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. every Saturday at the PETCO in Wellington and the PetSmart in Royal Palm Beach.  On Sundays, we are at the PETCO in Boynton Beach from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
