Dear Big Dog Ranch Rescue,
This is the time we reflect on our own thankfulness for the life we have…so here is my very feeble attempt to tell you how grateful and happy we are, and that BDRR, their staff, and their volunteers are amazing!
About three years ago and around the holidays, you rescued Auggie from certain death. For him, the first few months of his life were less than wonderful. You scooped him up, held him, bathed him, doctored him, and cared for him. Your only thank you was his health and his smiling happy face. For two and a half years, you loved him and waited patiently for his turn to find a forever home. You stood by and watched good folks adopt other dogs, but Auggie waited. And so did you…never giving up as you posted, took him to events, and prayed for his forever family to come.
Thank you. Thank you for waiting, for taking care of him, and thank you for waiting some more.
Randy and I are and will be forever grateful for his care and love that you generously gave without question. Auggie is awesome, simply awesome. He was happy and healthy when we brought him home. His transition has been seamless and that credit belongs to the staff and volunteers who love and care for all the dogs who pass through their gates. Thank you.
It is hard to remember a time before his arrival. There are subtle changes as each day passes. He smiles a lot and appears more relaxed as the days have turned to months. I feel that with each new day he breathes a brief sigh that our home is his home too! He has figured out that he likes to snooze on the sofa and nap on the bed…he loves his toys, and spending time with Jiyah. He plays in the yard, sits in the window, greets us at the door and wakes me up every morning with a sniff and a kiss. (That’s my favorite wake up call:)
So today, I am grateful for my family (both kinds: the two legged kind and the four legged furry kind), friends, health, work, and Big Dog Ranch Rescue. BDRR, I am thankful for your hard work, dedication, generosity, and love.
Life is best when shared with those you love who have muddy paws and sloppy kisses.
Love, Auggie, Jiyah, Cloudy, Meatballs, and two very happy humans
