On the Line

A Sidelines blog

Back to Work, Back to Florida!

January 03, 2011 By: Erin Category: On the Line

It’s been far too long! Horse news slowed down considerably once we all knew who Totilas’ new rider was, right?  December seemed like the right time to take an extended blog-cation. But to the thousands of you who fervently follow this blog (or. . . maybe just all 12 of you), your worries are over. I’m back! Apologies, December just got the best of me, what with all the holidays, shopping, horses. .

Actually, the truth is that On the Line was too busy quitting an office job and swapping coasts to blog about much of anything. After San Francisco cheated me out of a summer with unusually cold weather, moving to Florida for the winter seemed a natural choice. It was very hard to leave my amazing barn, where I taught a great group of clients for over two years, but my former students know I’ll be back to visit. And that ad agency office job was fabulous, anyone would have felt a little crazy walking away from it. But then again, horse people are just not meant to write car commercials.

So here I am. Expect lots of Wellington horse world news this winter. This blog may include regular boasts about the weather (it was 77 degrees today!); consider yourself warned. But while you shiver away the winter in your corner of the country, you can enjoy more on the ground coverage right here of the Winter Equestrian Festival, dressage and polo happenings in South Florida.

WEF begins next week, and Sidelines has exciting stories planned in the coming months. Welcome to On the Line – Florida edition!

Enough said.
